Harry Kane has described his first-ever career trophy as ‘worth the wait’ after leading Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title on Saturday.
The English forward scored the opener in the 2-0 win over Monchengladbach to seal the title for the Bavarians.
Kane had lost six finals for club and country before joining Bayern Munich last summer and he has now ended his trophy drought in style.
The 31-year-old was drenched in beer and surrounded by his teammates at the end of the encounter as Kompany’s team were crowned Champions.
The former Tottenham forward described it as an incredible feeling to win his first career trophy.
Kane said: “It was an incredible feeling… it’s worth the wait.
“It’s been a lot of hard work, a lot of sacrifice in between, for moments like this – to enjoy it with the team, enjoy it with the fans. I’m loving every minute.
“We’re going to enjoy this for sure, but then hopefully this is just the first of many.
“We have a great team, a great coach and yeah, we feel like we’re building, so we’re looking forward to the challenge.”
Kane has enjoyed a prolific season for Bayern Munich with 25 goals in the Bundesliga.
