A 25-year-old woman is dead after a shooting in an alleyway on Chicago’s South Side on Friday evening.
The shooting occurred around 5:20 p.m. in the 8000 block of South Harvard Avenue.
According to the Chicago Police, the woman was walking through the alley when she heard a loud noise.
Moments later, she realized she had been shot.
Police confirmed the woman suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency responders rushed her to a nearby hospital, but she was later pronounced dead.
The victim’s identity has not yet been released by the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office.
As of Saturday morning, no suspects are in custody.
Chicago Police detectives are currently investigating the area for witnesses and surveillance footage.
No motive has been established for the shooting.
