An apartment building in Chicago’s Uptown neighborhood was hit by a major fire early Tuesday morning, resulting in one injury and displacing several residents.
The Chicago Fire Department (CFD) and police responded to the blaze around 1:11 a.m. in the 4900-block of North Glenwood Avenue.

Flames reportedly tore through the building, causing significant damage.

Injury: One woman was transported to Illinois Masonic Medical Center for smoke inhalation. She was listed in good condition, according to police.

Displaced Residents: At least seven people were forced to find new shelter following the fire. Reports indicate one child was among those displaced.
