Chicago police are searching for a suspect involved in a violent robbery and battery on the CTA Red Line earlier this month.
The attack occurred in the 0-100 block of South State Street at the Monroe station in the Loop.
Authorities say the incident took place around 10:10 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026.
According to the police alert, an unidentified female offender approached a passenger on a moving train.
The suspect aggressively battered the victim while taking her personal property by force.
Investigators describe the offender as a young African American female between the ages of 17 and 22.
Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect and are asking for the public’s help in identifying her.
