Reality TV star and influencer Alex Unusual has publicly criticized the Lagos State government for its recent actions against homeless individuals, expressing outrage and disappointment over the reported arrests.
The former Big Brother Naija housemate took to her Instagram Story to voice her disapproval of what she sees as an inhumane and unjust move by the authorities. In a series of emotional posts, Alex questioned the rationale behind targeting people who are already struggling to survive on the streets.
“Can someone please explain why Lagos State is arresting homeless people?” she asked, clearly disturbed by the news.
The reality star didn’t mince words about how the development affected her, saying, “What is the crime? Not having a home?”
Alex went on to point out the irony in the situation. According to her, people with homes who should know better often contribute to public nuisance and environmental degradation, yet are not subjected to the same treatment.
“I still see people throwing things out of their cars, even those with houses,” she noted, highlighting the selective nature of enforcement.
Further venting her disbelief, she asked, “Why are homeless people sleeping in corners being arrested?”
Her comments have since sparked conversation online, with many Nigerians echoing her sentiments and calling for a more compassionate approach to addressing homelessness in the state.
