It was a night of glitz, gratitude, and great music on Monday as Nigerian music stars Timi Dakolo, Flavour, Teni, and Fido led a lineup of performers at a presidential dinner organized in honour of the Super Falcons, fresh off their triumphant outing at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja, the event celebrated the Falcons’ exceptional achievement and was attended by notable government dignitaries and members of the creative industry. Among those present were Hannatu Musawa, Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism and Creative Economy; Doris Uzoka-Anite, Minister of State for Finance; and Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation.
The evening kicked off with high spirits as the Super Falcons who had returned from Morocco just hours earlier were welcomed with cheers and accolades for their historic win. They were treated to live performances from some of Nigeria’s finest musical talents.
Timi Dakolo delivered a soul-stirring rendition that moved guests and players alike, while Flavour brought highlife energy to the stage with his signature Igbo rhythms. Teni had the crowd singing along with her energetic delivery, and Fido added flair to the evening with his smooth vocals.
Also spotted at the event were comedian Seyi Law and football analyst Kelechi Anyikude, who joined in the celebration of the team’s remarkable journey to continental victory.
The night was a perfect fusion of sport, entertainment, and national pride, as the Super Falcons were not only celebrated for their footballing excellence but also treated like the queens they truly are.
