Chicago police and family members are desperately searching for Linda Brown, a 53-year-old special education teacher.
Brown, who teaches at Robert Healy Elementary School, vanished early Saturday morning, January 3, 2026.
Her husband, Antwon Brown, told reporters he woke up Saturday to find his wife was gone.
New surveillance video shows Brown getting out of her car around 3 a.m. that morning.
The footage captures her walking alone over a pedestrian bridge leading toward the lakefront.
While her car was later discovered near South Lake Park Avenue and East 35th Street, Brown remains missing.
Family members believe she is still on foot and may be in need of urgent medical attention.
Police initially reported her last known location in the 4500 block of South Martin Luther King Drive.
She was last seen wearing a black winter hat, a black coat, black pants, and black rubber snow boots.
The principal at Healy Elementary has alerted the school community and is offering mental health support to students.
Her husband made an emotional plea for help, stating the family is “breaking down” as the search continues.
