Members of the Chicago Police Department and the U.S. Marshals Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested two 15-year-old male juveniles for the September shooting of a 15-year-old boy in West Garfield Park.
Chicago Police and federal marshals have arrested two 15-year-old boys for the attempted murder of another teenager in West Garfield Park.

The original shooting occurred around 11:16 p.m. on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The 15-year-old victim was standing on the sidewalk near a restaurant in the first block of South Pulaski Road near Monroe Street.

Two offenders approached the teenager on foot as he stood outside the establishment.
One of the offenders drew a firearm and fired directly at the young victim.

The gunman shot the boy in the leg before both suspects fled the scene on foot.
Paramedics transported the injured teenager to Stroger Hospital of Cook County in good condition to recover from his gunshot wound.

Harrison Area detectives immediately launched an investigation to track down the fleeing suspects.
Investigators identified two 15-year-old male juveniles as the primary participants in the violent sidewalk attack.

Both juveniles also face one felony count of aggravated battery with the discharge of a firearm.

Police also charged that same suspect with felony theft involving property valued between $500 and $10,000 from a June 1 incident in the 3900 block of West North Avenue.
