Chicago police have launched a search for a driver involved in a hit-and-run that left two men dead in the Morgan Park neighborhood early Sunday morning.
While initial reports described the discovery as a death investigation with no immediate signs of trauma, police confirmed early Monday that the men were struck by a vehicle.
The incident occurred around 1:15 a.m. Sunday in the 11700 block of South Marshfield Avenue.
According to investigators, a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee struck two pedestrians and immediately fled the scene.
The victims, a 30-year-old man and a second man of unknown age, were found unresponsive in the street.
Both were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.
Vehicle Recovered, Driver at Large
On Monday morning, police provided a significant update in the search for the suspect.

While officers have successfully recovered the vehicle, the driver remains at large.
No descriptions of the suspect have been released at this time.
Area Two detectives are currently reviewing surveillance footage and evidence from the recovered Jeep.
