Two Chicago police officers and a teenager are hospitalized following a violent collision involving a stolen car near Wrigley Field early Monday morning.
The crash happened just before 3:00 a.m. in the 3600 block of North Racine Avenue.
According to the Chicago Police, a marked squad car was traveling southbound when a stolen Hyundai Elantra blew through a stop sign and slammed into the officers’ vehicle.
The impact was powerful enough to shove the police cruiser into a tree.
The stolen Hyundai didn’t stop there; it continued moving until it struck three additional parked cars along the street.

Police Officers: Two officers were rushed to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Driver: The 18-year-old man driving the Hyundai was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in critical condition.
Police confirmed the Hyundai had been previously reported stolen.
The 18-year-old driver is currently in police custody, and charges against him are pending.
No one else was injured in the incident.
