Nigerian music powerhouses Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade have officially put an end to their long-running feud, reuniting publicly after seven years of tension that once dominated headlines.
Their rift dates back to a social media clash in 2017, after Yemi Alade threw shade at female celebrities who, according to her, edited their photos or “enhanced their buttocks” to mislead fans. The comment came shortly after Tiwa Savage posted photos accentuating her curves.
Tiwa fired back with a sharp warning:
“Don’t start a war you can’t finish.”
From that moment, the two stars maintained a frosty relationship, fueling speculation of rivalry between the Afrobeats queens.
But on Thursday in Lagos, history shifted.
During The Price of Being Her panel at Entertainment Week Africa, Yemi Alade took a moment to publicly honour Tiwa Savage. In a heartfelt message that surprised many, she said:
“I want you to know that those moments you get rugged and do what you truly want to do, you are standing up for many females. Continue being you. You walk in strength.”
Her touching tribute stirred strong emotions. Tiwa, visibly moved, teared up as she embraced Yemi Alade, marking the official end of their bitter feud.
Another video captured the two superstars singing together and sharing a warm, genuine hug, a moment fans have waited almost a decade to witness.
The reunion has since ignited excitement across social media, with fans celebrating the symbolic moment for women in Afrobeats and calling it a win for unity in the Nigerian music industry.
