Controversial street-hop star, Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, popularly known as Portable, is back in the headlines, this time for calling out Grammy-winning superstar Burna Boy over what he describes as being ignored after receiving a N20 million cash gift.
Burna Boy had gifted Portable the whopping sum following his celebrity boxing match victory against rapper Speed Darlington a.k.a. ‘Akpi’ in Lagos. The bout, which generated buzz across social media, ended with Portable emerging as the clear winner, and Burna Boy showing his support with a generous monetary reward.
However, it appears that money isn’t enough for the ‘Zazuu Zeh’ crooner, who now says he’s been repeatedly ignored by the African Giant himself. In a now-viral video circulating online, Portable expressed his frustration, revealing that he’s been trying to reach Burna Boy ever since but has gotten no response.
“Burna Boy gave me 20 million naira, but he won’t reply my DMs on Instagram, pick my calls, or even link me. I don’t even have his number. The 20M will finish, what I really need from him is a verse. Why are you so stingy with your replies?” Portable lamented in the video.
Fans have been divided over the outburst, with some supporting Portable’s plea for a collaboration, while others criticized him for seemingly being ungrateful.
Still, if there’s one thing Portable knows how to do, it’s stir conversation, and he has once again managed to get the internet talking. Whether Burna Boy responds with a verse or silence remains to be seen.
