Veteran Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has fired shots at Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a new song titled “Tell Your Papa.” The outspoken artist uses the track to slam Seyi’s recent remarks praising his father as “the greatest president in Nigeria’s history,” a statement that sparked public outrage.
Seyi Tinubu had made the controversial comment while addressing a youth gathering in Adamawa State last month, a period marked by rising economic hardship, inflation, and widespread insecurity. His praise drew heavy criticism, with many calling it tone-deaf and disconnected from the reality of ordinary Nigerians.
Reacting through his latest track, Eedris Abdulkareem did not hold back. The “Jaga Jaga” crooner urged Seyi to step into the shoes of struggling Nigerians and relay the dire situation of the country to his father.
“Seyi, tell your papa, country hard. Tell your papa people dey die. Tell your papa this one don pass jagajaga,” he raps passionately.
He continues, “Seyi, how far? I swear your papa no try. Too much empty promises. On behalf of Nigerians, take our message to him; kidnappers dey kill Nigerians.”
Eedris also challenges Seyi to experience the realities Nigerians face daily by traveling without the comfort of security escorts or private jets.
“Seyi, try travel by road without your security make you feel the pains of fellow Nigerians. You dey fly private jets, insecurity no be your problem,” he sings.
The song has since ignited conversations across social media, with many hailing Eedris for using his voice to echo the frustration of the masses. Known for his bold and political lyrics, the rapper has once again cemented his place as a fearless voice in Nigerian music.
