A 17-year-old boy has been arrested and charged after allegedly stabbing an employee at a Northwest Side Burger King on Friday morning.
The incident occurred just after 8:30 a.m. inside the restaurant, located in the 6400 block of West Irving Park Road.
Employee Stabbed Attempting to Intervene
According to police, a 24-year-old employee was critically injured after attempting to de-escalate an altercation and asking the suspect to leave the premises.
The employee was stabbed multiple times during the incident. He was immediately transported to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Suspect in Custody
The 17-year-old suspect was taken into custody shortly after the stabbing, around 9:30 a.m., in the 6400 block of W. Belle Plaine Ave.
He has been charged with aggravated battery and the use of a deadly weapon in connection with the attack. No further details on the nature of the initial altercation have been released.
