Reality TV star and entrepreneur, Natacha Akide, popularly known as Tacha, has officially etched her name in the global history books after Guinness World Records confirmed that she set two new world records, for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours and in 24 hours.
The official Guinness World Records page made the announcement on Tuesday, writing:
“Congratulations to @Symply_Tacha who set TWO new @GWR titles for the most cosmetic makeovers in eight hours AND 24 hours.”
Tacha’s record-breaking attempt took place at the John Randle Centre for Yoruba Culture and History in Lagos, where she worked tirelessly through the night, starting at 8:00 p.m. on October 11, 2024, and completing 145 makeovers within 24 hours, the highest ever recorded.
The marathon event was supervised by Guinness officials, independent witnesses, and professional makeup artists to ensure every makeover met official standards for verification.
Reflecting on the feat, an emotional Tacha expressed gratitude to her late mother, team, and fans fondly called the Titans for their unwavering support.
“I felt my mummy holding my shoulders when my knees were shaking. I carried her strength into that room and I didn’t stop,” she said.
“We didn’t just work, we warred. This was more than makeup; it was history in motion.”
She also celebrated her loyal fanbase for standing by her through challenges:
“When the world wrote me off, when I was blacklisted for being real, you held me up. Because you don’t stop, I will never stop.”
With this achievement, Tacha becomes the first Nigerian to break two Guinness World Records in one sitting, joining the ranks of fellow record-holders like chef Hilda Baci in bringing global recognition to Nigerian excellence.
Tacha hinted that she plans to mark the historic win during her upcoming birthday, describing it as “the best gift secured.”
