Providence police have detained a person of interest in the shooting at Brown University that happened yesterday.
They said: “We have detained a person of interest in connection with yesterday’s shooting at Brown. The shelter in place has been lifted.”
The attack took place on Saturday at the campus in Providence, Rhode Island. A shooter opened fire, killing at least two people and wounding nine others.
Police released video footage of the suspect earlier. It shows a man in his 30s wearing dark clothing walking near the scene. They do not have images of him entering the building or a clear view of his face.
The university has lifted the shelter in place order. Security remains high on campus as classes go on.
