The award-winning producer highlighted the role of spirituality, self-awareness, and originality in her longevity in Nollywood. Despite her dominance at the box office for four consecutive years, Funke Akindele explained that she remains focused on pushing boundaries, not soaking in accolades.

She also shared how she handles grief and personal struggles, admitting she doesn’t allow herself to break down. “I don’t have that luxury,” she said, underscoring the strength it takes to keep showing up in a demanding industry.

This candid revelation comes just days after she was caught in a social media storm, following claims by skit maker Ijoba Lande that he was underpaid and poorly treated on her movie set. Initially, Lande alleged he was paid only ₦90,000 for a month’s work, despite being excited about working with the star. However, he later issued a public apology, correcting the figure to ₦190,000 and expressing regret over his comments.

As the dust settles, Funke remains unshaken, a testament to the same resilience she credits for her lasting success: hard work, focus, and a refusal to be distracted by noise.
