Singer Skales has broken his silence amid the brewing drama between Dammy Krane and Davido, following the release of Dammy Krane’s EP “5ive.”
The ever-controversial Dammy Krane made his way back in the headlines, this time for what many are calling a calculated jab at superstar Davido. On Friday, May 18, both artists dropped projects titled “5ive,” but fans quickly noticed more than just a name clash, Dammy Krane’s EP included a track featuring Skales and Runtown, raising serious eyebrows.
What truly lit the fire was a fan’s reaction on Twitter, where he called out Skales for allegedly siding with Dammy Krane in what seemed like a subtle diss at Davido, prompting backlash and accusations of disloyalty. The fan tweeted:
“Mehn @youngskales lost my respect jumpin on a track with dammykrane to step on davidos 5ive, crazy stuff mehn!”
Skales didn’t waste time setting the record straight. In his response, the singer clarified that the song in question is over a decade old and was released by Dammy Krane without his or Runtown’s consent.
“That track is from over 10 years ago … it was released without myself and Runtown’s permission on dsp’s … it will be taken down,” Skales tweeted.
This revelation has shifted the narrative, painting Dammy Krane as someone who not only recycled old work without approval but also timed the release to coincide with Davido’s, possibly to ride on the hype or stir controversy. Whether coincidence or intentional, the move has been labeled petty by many observers.
Dammy Krane has, over the years, built a reputation for poking at Davido, whether through social media rants or subliminal jabs in music. This latest stunt only reinforces his status as a recurring thorn in Davido’s flesh, proving yet again that he’s not done being a royal pain in the ass.
