Shiloh Hendrix, a Rochester, Minnesota resident, has raised $289,967 through her GiveSendGo campaign titled “Help Me Protect My Family,” following a viral TikTok video allegedly showing her using a racial slur toward a 5-year-old Black child at Soldiers Memorial Field Park.
The campaign, launched on May 1, 2025, has now set a new goal of $1,000,000, with donations reportedly pouring in at a rate of $25,000 per hour, according to BestLagos.

The controversy stems from an incident where Hendrix claims the child attempted to take items from her 18-month-old son’s diaper bag, prompting her response.
The video, which garnered millions of views, led to her personal information, including her address and Social Security number, being leaked online, resulting in threats and harassment. Her fundraiser has sparked polarized reactions, with supporters rallying behind her claim of needing to relocate for safety, while critics condemn her actions and question the ethics of the campaign.
Local authorities are investigating the incident, and Rochester’s community leaders, including the NAACP and Mayor Kim Norton, have called for action against racism.
