Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu swore in Hon. Okeowo Olufemi Akanbi as the new Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) on Monday at Lagos House, Ikeja.
The ceremony marked a new chapter for Ifelodun LCDA, with the governor emphasizing leadership as a call to serve and uplift the community.
Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated Hon. Okeowo, who was elected in the July 12, 2025, local government polls but was unable to take the oath earlier due to health issues.
Now fully recovered, Okeowo is set to lead the LCDA for his second term.
The governor urged him to work closely with stakeholders to deliver results that improve residents’ lives, highlighting the council’s diverse and populous nature.
“We are encouraged by his strong performance in his first term,” Sanwo-Olu said, expressing confidence in Okeowo’s ability to drive progress. The governor also called on government officials to support the new chairman in his duties.
