The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Emeka Rollas, has raised alarm over the alleged substance abuse involving Nollywood star Regina Daniels, saying several top industry veterans have witnessed the issue firsthand but chosen to remain silent.
Rollas made the revelation in a detailed statement posted on his Instagram page, addressing what he described as “ongoing allegations, misconceptions, and unnecessary accusations” surrounding Regina Daniels, her husband Senator Ned Nwoko, and the AGN.
According to him, Senator Nwoko currently serves as Chairman of the AGN Board of Patrons, while Regina and her mother, Rita Daniels, are registered members of the Guild.
He said many people have been tagging him online, demanding that he react to the escalating controversy involving the family.
Rollas stated that he owed it to himself and the Guild to speak the truth, insisting that he would no longer stay silent while senior colleagues avoided taking responsibility.
Shockingly, he named respected Nollywood veterans Jide Kosoko, Sanni Danji, Okey Bakassi, Charles Inojie, and Chinyere Wilfred as individuals who allegedly witnessed Regina Daniels abusing substances during recent movie productions.
He questioned why they have refused to speak up.
“You were all on set during the last production in question. You saw things firsthand regarding Regina, and we all know she needs help. Your silence is unfair, and it leaves me exposed to attacks for matters I did not create,” he said.
Rollas further disclosed that while the Guild was planning a roundtable meeting in South Africa, Senator Ned Nwoko allegedly gave a condition that Regina would only be allowed to attend if Rollas guaranteed she would not pass through Lagos.
“This is a fact, and I state it because it has been twisted against me repeatedly,” he added.
His revelation has triggered fresh conversations within the Nollywood community, with many calling for transparency and immediate intervention to ensure Regina Daniels receives the help she reportedly needs.
