PSG suffered a 2-1 defeat to Strasbourg to record their second consecutive defeat in the 2024-25 Ligue 1 season ahead of the Champions League clash against Arsenal.
Enrique’s side lost 4-1 go Nice last week before going down to Strasbourg on Saturday with a second string side.
The Spanish manager made 10 changes to the side that defeated Arsenal last week with only João Neves retaining his place in the team.
Lucas Hernandez scored an own goal before Lemarechal made it 2-0 on the stroke of halftime, and Barcola scored the only goal for PSG.
Luis Enrique praised Strasbourg for their quality while urging his team to switch focus to the return leg against Arsenal on Wednesday.
He said: “I think it was a very close match between two teams who want to play in the Champions League next season.
“It was a very high-level match. All the objectives I had in mind came to fruition, apart from the result. It’s ridiculous to go beyond that. I also want to say that we were close to a draw, we had chances.
“It’s not easy to play against this Strasbourg team. They have a lot of quality and experience. Now, we have to recover and focus on Wednesday’s match.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal also suffered a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The victory moved Strasbourg up to fifth on the Ligue 1 table with two matches to go.
Up next for PSG in the Ligue 1 is a clash against Montpellier next Saturday, while Strasbourg will take on Angers on the same day.
