Nigerian influencer and brand ambassador Priscilla Ojo has cleared the air over swirling reports that her husband, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, lost his multimillion-dollar fashion store to protesters following post-election unrest in Tanzania.
On Thursday morning, social media went into a frenzy after a post on X claimed that Juma Jux’s luxury fashion store allegedly valued at over $780 million had been set ablaze by angry demonstrators amid political tension in Dar es Salaam.
The viral post quickly spread across major blogs and gossip platforms, sparking widespread concern among fans who feared that the couple had suffered a huge financial loss.
However, Priscilla took to Snapchat to debunk the story, clarifying that while there was minor looting during the protests, the building itself was never burnt down.
Her statement helped calm anxious fans who had flooded her comment sections with questions and words of sympathy.
The clarification comes just weeks after Priscilla and Juma Jux returned to Lagos for a short family vacation, where they were warmly welcomed at a lavish homecoming party organized by her mother, Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo.
While Juma Jux is yet to make an official comment on the incident, sources close to the couple confirmed that security has since been tightened around the store and operations will resume soon.
Priscilla’s swift response not only put rumours to rest but also highlighted how quickly misinformation can spiral online, especially when it involves high-profile celebrity couples.
With order gradually returning to the streets of Dar es Salaam, fans are relieved that the power couple’s luxury brand remains intact and stronger than ever.
