The Ondo State Police Command has apprehended three suspects linked to the violent attack on Fuji icon Obesere during his performance at a burial ceremony in Okitipupa last Friday.
Recall that Obesere and his band members were assaulted by a group of hoodlums who stormed the Government Field venue, injuring his manager and carting away the singer’s belongings, including cash and valuables.
Reacting to the incident, the Chairman of Okitipupa Local Government, Soga Andrew Ogunsakin, issued a statement shared via his official Facebook page strongly condemning the attack. He confirmed that swift action by security operatives led to the arrest of three individuals believed to be part of the gang behind the chaos.
“Upon receiving the report on the unfortunate incident involving Obesere, I immediately swung into action to ensure accountability and restore calm. I’m pleased to inform the public that three suspects connected to the disturbance have been arrested, while efforts are ongoing to track down other individuals involved,” Ogunsakin said.
He added that some of the items stolen from the Fuji musician have already been recovered.
Ogunsakin further disclosed that he has reached out to Obesere’s management for a meeting to personally express his concern and reaffirm the council’s commitment to ensuring justice is served.
