The highlight of the evening came when Pasuma joined him on stage, prompting the Galala music pioneer to publicly express his gratitude for the kindness that helped him survive.

According to Daddy Showkey, Pasuma was the only friend who stood by him when he suffered a near-fatal accident in 2007. The injuries from the accident were so severe that he spent three years in the hospital. During that period, he said Pasuma not only checked on him but also stepped in to provide for his family.

“You see, this man, he stood by me during bad times and good times. Many people didn’t see me in public or sing for years because I had an accident in 2007. I was in the hospital for three years. Pasuma was the one taking care of my family. I can never forget him in my life,” he said, as the crowd cheered.

The singer went further to describe Pasuma as his “only friend in the industry,” revealing that most of his other friends and colleagues abandoned him in his time of need. Even when he tried to reconnect with them after his recovery, they shut him out.

“After I recovered, I visited others but they didn’t give me the opportunity to see them not to talk of helping. When I got to their houses they would tell me that they were not around even when they were inside the house,” he added.

The emotional tribute has since drawn praise from fans across social media who commended Pasuma’s loyalty and Showkey’s honesty. The moment has also reignited conversations about the importance of true friendship, especially in the entertainment industry, where support can be fleeting during tough times.
