Pastor Paul Adefarasin, the Senior Pastor of House on the Rock Church, has voluntarily turned himself in at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, following a viral video that sparked widespread controversy.
The video, which surfaced online last week, allegedly shows the prominent cleric holding a gun-like object during a heated confrontation with another road user while driving an unregistered vehicle in Lagos traffic.
The Lagos State Police Command, through a statement posted on their official X handle (@LagosPoliceNG), confirmed that detectives have commenced an investigation into the incident.
“No one is above the law!” the statement emphasized, assuring the public that the outcome of the investigation will be made transparent.
The video, reportedly filmed by a content creator known for documenting luxury cars, has ignited debates across social media about road rage, gun control, and the conduct of public figures in Nigeria.
Pastor Adefarasin, who previously denied the allegations, stated during a church service on June 8 that the object in question was not a firearm and that he does not own or carry one.
Despite his clarification, the incident has drawn significant scrutiny, prompting his appearance at the police headquarters.
The investigation aims to verify the nature of the object and determine if any laws were violated.
