Traffic is currently at a standstill on the Third Mainland Bridge, inward Oworonshoki, as residents affected by a recent demolition in the Oworonshoki area have taken to the road in protest.
The demonstrators are demanding justice and an end to forced evictions, leading to a major traffic gridlock on the key Lagos artery.
As of this morning, commuters and motorists were met with heavy congestion as a result of the protest. The unexpected disruption, occurring on a busy Monday, is causing significant delays for people heading towards the Oworonshoki area.
Motorists are strongly advised to use alternative routes to avoid the standstill. Traffic management authorities are on the ground to manage the situation and reroute vehicles where possible.
