Famous Nigerian rapper, Odumodublvck, has stirred conversations online with an unexpected but intriguing statement about the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
Taking to his X handle, the hip-hop star expressed admiration for Wike’s vocal tone and musical flair, stating that the former Rivers State governor could have had a successful career in music.
In his exact words, Odumodublvck wrote:
“I wish say Wike dey do music. I hear something in his vocals. I’m not joking.”
While the rapper’s tweet raised eyebrows, those familiar with Wike’s musical history weren’t surprised. During his tenure as governor of Rivers State from 2015 to 2023, Wike frequently performed with a live band at public events; a tradition he has continued since becoming the FCT Minister.
In fact, Wike’s band has gained notoriety for churning out catchy political anthems that often go viral. Tracks like ‘As E Dey Sweet Us’, ‘Agreement Is Agreement’, and ‘Biggie Man’ have become cultural hits, blending satire with socio-political commentary.
After assuming office as FCT minister, Wike even relocated his beloved band to Abuja and recently announced a wage increase for the band members during the commissioning of the collector road linking Mabushi to Judges’ Quarters in Katampe.
With Odumodublvck’s co-sign, some fans are now half-jokingly calling for a collaboration between the rapper and the minister’s live band, a combo that would surely shake up both the music and political scene.
