Nollywood actor Odira Nwobu has reportedly survived a ghastly car accident that claimed several lives along the busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway. The tragic incident occurred on Thursday, June 26, 2025, according to information gathered by TheNewsGuru.
Nwobu, known for his comic roles in Nollywood, was said to be en route to a movie location when the accident happened. Sources confirmed that he was swiftly rushed to a nearby hospital where he is currently receiving treatment. His condition, though not publicly disclosed in detail, has stirred concern among fans and colleagues in the film industry.
Reports suggest that the crash involved multiple vehicles and resulted in a devastating loss of lives. “Reports indicate that several individuals lost their lives in a road accident that occurred on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on Thursday, January 26, 2025,” a source confirmed.
Tragically, the horror on the expressway did not end there. Just days before, on Tuesday, another fatal accident occurred in Ibadan, Oyo State, also along the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway, leading to the death of about ten individuals.
“It was gathered that the accident involved three Nissan Micra taxi cabs and three articulated vehicles,” a source disclosed, adding that all the vehicles were reportedly coming from Iwo Road when the collision happened.
“The incident occurred around the Soka area at the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. It was learnt that about ten people have reportedly lost their lives,” another account noted.
