Nollywood actress, Nkechi Blessing, has clapped back at critics after an unflattering photo of her at the gym surfaced online and began making the rounds on social media.
The outspoken actress, who is no stranger to controversy, took to Instagram to address the situation, making it clear that her priority at the gym is fitness and health, not physical appearance.
“I went to the gym to stay fit and healthy, not for a fashion show or runway. How am I supposed to look for a gym after a long day, abeg? It’s well. Una go soon intensify una attack cus na never see anything!” she wrote.
According to Nkechi, she initially felt the urge to react harshly to the photo and the backlash it generated, but supportive comments from her fans encouraged her to remain calm. Instead of engaging in online drama, she chose to rise above the negativity.
She further revealed that she has handed over the matter to God, especially the individual responsible for taking and sharing the picture without her consent.
“I wanted to react, then I read the comments. You really cannot disgrace a woman’s clothes with so much grace. And to you who took that picture, I leave you in the hands of God; He will judge you accordingly,” Nkechi noted.
In a follow-up statement, the actress playfully embraced her body while making light of the situation, reminding her critics that her focus remains on personal growth and wellness.
“Nkechi is trying to stay healthy and fit in the gym is a topic. Lmao. With my big belly with pride. Una go dey alright for real,” she added.
