What started as lyrical tension has erupted into an all-out war of words between Nigerian rappers Odumodublvck and Blaqbonez, with the former declaring that their beef is now “beyond rap.”
The feud, which had been brewing subtly for days, took a dramatic turn on Sunday as both artists engaged in a heated exchange on social media, trading barbs and calling each other out publicly.
The tension escalated after Blaqbonez threw shots at Odumodublvck in his new collaborative track with A-Q titled ‘Who’s Really Rapping,’ which many fans interpreted as a diss aimed at his peer. Although the early jabs were indirect, the veil was lifted after Odumodublvck directly responded to Blaqbonez on X.
Reacting to a post where Blaqbonez suggested that rap is difficult for some artists, Odumodublvck clapped back with a bold statement:
“If rap hard for me your last hit no go dey with me. I’m everything you want to be, ngga. Your spirit is weak.”
Blaqbonez, not one to back down, fired back with a challenge, urging Odumodublvck to settle the score in the booth instead of online.
“Enter studio and get TF out my mentions. This no be Twitter warfare. And stop calling the whole industry crying about me. No be so Kendrick Lamar dey do. Hip-hop legacy,” he replied.
However, Odumodublvck made it clear that this feud isn’t limited to music. He dismissed the idea of resolving it through rap and warned Blaqbonez that their confrontation would spill into real life.
“You want to make it about studio. Na lie. We go meet again for street. You know the level. This is not a rap beef. Na me and you for this world,” he wrote, sending shockwaves through fans and industry watchers alike.
The ongoing clash has sparked intense conversation within the Nigerian hip-hop community, with fans choosing sides and waiting to see whether this war of words will evolve into a diss-track battle or spill over into something more personal.
As tensions rise, many are calling for the rappers to keep the beef lyrical and maintain the spirit of hip-hop competition. But judging by Odumodublvck’s recent statements, this feud may be far from over.
