The Morris Fire Protection District is mourning the loss of 34-year-old firefighter Aron Jaime, who died in a vehicle crash on Sunday.
Officials confirmed that Jaime, a resident of Joliet, was off duty at the time of the accident.
Jaime was a veteran of the department, having served the Morris community for 10 years.
He had recently achieved a major career milestone by becoming a full-time firefighter this past May.
The District released a statement praising Jaime’s impact on his colleagues and the community.
“He was a valued member of the District and will be remembered not only for his professionalism and dedication, but also for his personality and smile that could light up the darkest corner,” a spokesperson said.
Funeral and Visitation Services
The community is invited to pay their respects during a visitation scheduled for Thursday, Dec. 18.
