Nigerian music mogul and Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy, has opened up about his deep-seated fear of marriage, revealing that past heartbreak and the messy nature of modern relationships have made him cautious about love and commitment.
In a candid chat with HabbyFX, the award-winning producer spoke about how witnessing public breakups and social media dramas has shaped his outlook on marriage. He admitted that while he still believes in love, the fear of emotional and financial loss keeps him from rushing into another union.
“My parents were madly in love before my mom passed away, and that made me believe in love,” Don Jazzy said. “But when you see messy breakups online, it gives fear. A man could lose half of everything he has worked for if there’s no prenuptial agreement like we see in America.”
The “Dorobucci” hitmaker revealed that his experiences have made him protective of his wealth and legacy. “All those things used to scare me. The money that I have amassed is for my generation,” he added.
Despite his fears, Don Jazzy admitted that he hasn’t completely ruled out marriage. “I still believe I’ll find the right person one day,” he said with optimism.
It would be recalled that the Mavin boss was once married in 2003, but the union ended just two years later. Since then, Don Jazzy has kept his romantic life private while focusing on building one of Africa’s most successful record labels, nurturing stars like Rema, Ayra Starr, Ladipoe, and Crayon among others.
