A late-night drive turned violent in Brighton Park on Sunday when a man and woman were shot by someone in a passing SUV.
The incident occurred around 9:23 p.m. in the 3300-block of South Western Avenue.
According to the Chicago Police, the victims, a 37-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, were traveling northbound when a dark-colored SUV pulled up alongside them.
An occupant inside the SUV opened fire on their vehicle, striking both victims before fleeing the scene.

The 21-year-old woman sustained gunshot wounds to her back and arm. She is currently listed in critical condition.

The 37-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to the arm. He is reported to be in good condition.
As of Monday morning, no suspects are in custody.
Area Four detectives are currently investigating the motive behind the shooting.
Police have not yet released a more detailed description of the dark-colored SUV or the shooter.
