Chicago police are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 23-year-old man early Saturday morning in the Edgewater neighborhood.
The incident occurred around 4:00 a.m. in the 5100-block of North Sheridan Road.
Officers responded to a call regarding a person shot and discovered the victim lying outside.
According to investigators, the man had suffered a gunshot wound to the head.
Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.
A witness told police they saw a vehicle speeding away from the area immediately after the gunfire.
As of Saturday morning, no suspects are in custody, and police have not released a description of the vehicle.
Area Three detectives are currently leading the homicide investigation.
