A 26-year-old man faces a mountain of felony charges after a violent spree on Chicago’s Far South Side.
Police say Treavor Taylor went on a shooting rampage Saturday night that left two people injured.
The violence began just after 11:00 p.m. in the 11300 block of South Indiana Avenue.

Taylor allegedly opened fire on a 63-year-old woman, leaving her wounded.
Minutes later, the gunman moved to the 11200 block of South Corliss Avenue.
An on-duty Chicago Police Sergeant was sitting in his patrol car at that location.

The gunman fired into the vehicle, striking the officer.
Despite his injuries, the sergeant was able to drive himself to a nearby hospital.
Doctors expect the officer to recover from his wounds.
Officers flooded the area immediately after the shots rang out.
They located Taylor in the 11100 block of South Corliss Avenue at 11:35 p.m.
The arrest happened just 20 minutes after the initial shooting took place.
Taylor now faces eight felony counts, including two counts of first-degree attempted murder.
He also faces multiple counts of aggravated battery of a peace officer and discharging a firearm.
The suspect was scheduled for a detention hearing on March 17 at the Leighton Criminal Court Building.
Recent History
This area of the Far South Side has seen a troubling rise in confrontations with law enforcement.
The 5th District, which covers the Roseland and Pullman neighborhoods, remains a focus for CPD safety initiatives.
In recent months, residents have reported an increase in late-night gunfire near the South Indiana Avenue corridor.
Community leaders have called for more patrols to protect the high number of seniors living in the area.
This shooting marks the third time in a year that a Chicago officer has been targeted while inside a vehicle.
Local neighbors say the speed of this arrest provides some relief to a community on edge.
However, the brazen nature of shooting a 63-year-old woman and an officer back-to-back has sparked new outrage.
City officials are now looking at ways to increase surveillance along South Corliss Avenue to deter future crimes.
