Police have charged a man in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of a grandmother on New Year’s Eve in south suburban Riverdale.
The victim, identified as 71-year-old Harriet Reynolds, was struck and killed as celebrations for the new year were beginning.
The driver fled the scene immediately after the collision, sparking an intense investigation by local authorities.
Riverdale police announced that Barry Lewis is now in custody. He faces several serious charges, including:
