A major fire incident was reported late Thursday evening at the Berger Trailer Park in the Olodi-Apapa, Ajegunle area of Lagos, near the Mile 2 service lane.
The fire, which started around 8:15 PM, quickly escalated, involving several parked trailers, containerized stalls, and a large quantity of disused tires. The location is specifically after the Total filling station, inward Mile 2.
The Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service (LSFRS) confirmed their arrival at the scene by 8:30 PM. Firefighting operations are actively underway, led by teams from the Ajegunle, Sari Iganmu, and Alausa HQ Fire Stations. They are being supported by the Federal Fire Service, the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Agency (LNSA), and the Nigeria Police.
The supposed cause of the blaze is currently listed as negligence.
Crucially, authorities have confirmed that no casualties have been reported from the incident.
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the service lane along MTN inward Mile 2, as LASTMA personnel are managing the significant traffic congestion and ensuring clear access for emergency vehicles.
