Chicago police are investigating a break-in at the iconic Macy’s department store in the Loop that occurred early Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to the store at State and Randolph streets just before 3:30 a.m.
According to CPD, a man gained entry to the building and stole an undisclosed amount of merchandise.
The suspect did not get far. Police arrested the man shortly after the break-in, and charges are expected to be filed soon.
Second Break-in Reported in Beverly
In a separate incident on the same morning, a popular South Side business was also targeted.
Four suspects broke into The Original Rainbow Cone in the Beverly neighborhood.
While the suspects managed to force their way inside, police confirmed that nothing was stolen from the ice cream shop.
No arrests have been made in the Beverly case, and investigators have not said if the two incidents are related.
