Vanessa Okoye, daughter of prominent talent manager Paulo Okoye and stepdaughter to Nollywood star Iyabo Ojo, has come out swinging in defense of her stepsister, Priscilla Ojo, following a wave of online criticism stirred by a Tanzanian activist.

The controversy erupted after the activist publicly urged Priscilla and her partner, Tanzanian singer Juma Jux, to tone down their romantic displays and glamorous posts on social media. The activist claimed the couple’s content was insensitive and a distraction in light of Tanzania’s ongoing political tensions.

The statement immediately sparked widespread debate online, drawing both support and condemnation. Many viewed the activist’s comments as intrusive, while others believed public figures should be mindful of their platforms during times of national crisis.

Refusing to stay silent, Vanessa Okoye took to social media with a strongly worded post, making it clear that any form of attack on her family, especially Priscilla would not be tolerated.

“I will never take it if you attack my family,” Vanessa declared, firmly shutting down the criticism.

She went on to highlight what she described as a divine favor surrounding her stepsister, suggesting that envy may be the real reason behind the activist’s outburst.

“There is a special grace that follows Priscilla and if you don’t understand the grace, you will just be speaking rubbish for the rest of your lives,” she added.

Vanessa didn’t stop there. She addressed critics directly, urging them to focus on their own lives rather than trolling others online.

“You people should leave Priscilla alone. You all should go and marry, fall in love and be valuable to some people’s lives then you will see the blessing she has gotten,” she wrote.

With her signature blend of sass and sincerity, she concluded:

“You can’t be ranting, insulting and laying curses on the social media. What is the problem you have with Priscilla? If her wedding is disturbing you, you can go and have yours too.”

Vanessa’s passionate defense has since gone viral, with many fans applauding her for standing up for her family and promoting self-worth and love in the face of online negativity. Meanwhile, Priscilla Ojo has continued to maintain her composure amidst the storm, choosing to focus on her happiness and share her moments unapologetically.
