In a significant breakthrough, the Lagos State Police Command has apprehended Wasiu Akinwande, alias Olori Eso, a 44-year-old notorious hired killer, in his hideout in Agbado, Ogun State.
The arrest, executed through a tactical operation named “Silence, Speed and Surprise,” marks the end of a decade-long manhunt for the suspect, who is linked to multiple high-profile crimes, including murders, armed robberies, and kidnappings in Mushin and surrounding areas.
Police recovered several weapons, nine international passports, and other items from Akinwande’s possession.
The operation was led by the Command’s Tactical Squad, with Commissioner of Police CP Olohundare Jimoh praising the team’s professionalism.
Akinwande is currently in custody under tight security and faces prosecution for multiple capital offenses.
