The Lagos State Police Command has successfully arrested Amos Kini, a security guard, in connection with the abduction of a 2-year-old child in the Elemoro area of Lagos.
The incident was reported on September 21, 2025, after the child’s mother discovered her security guard had vanished with her young son and her mobile phone. The suspect later contacted the child’s father, demanding a ransom of ₦5 million for the child’s safe return.
Police operatives from the Elemoro Division immediately launched an operation. The pressure applied through intense surveillance and intelligence gathering eventually forced the suspect to release the child unharmed.
The police manhunt continued, led by operatives of the Tactical Squad (Hyena). Based on credible intelligence, Amos Kini was tracked and arrested at his hideout within the Elemoro area on September 23, 2025. The suspect has since confessed to the crime and is being held in police custody. He will face charges in court once the investigation is complete.
Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, strongly condemned the act, affirming the Command’s commitment to combating all violent crimes in the state. He urged Lagos residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.
