Lagos police arrested Chigozie Michael Clement, a 32-year-old painter, for kidnapping a 7-year-old boy.
On August 25, 2025, the boy’s father reported to Alapere Police Station that his son was taken from their home.
The suspect called the boy’s mother, demanding N7 million for his release.
The case went to the Special Squad I for investigation.
On August 27, police tracked Clement to Ijegun, Lagos, arrested him, and rescued the boy unharmed from a locked room. The child is now back with his family.
Clement confessed he kidnapped the boy to solve personal family issues.
Police are still investigating for accomplices and will take the case to court. Commissioner CP Olohundare Jimoh says the police will keep fighting crime to protect Lagos residents.
