American superstar singer and dancer Ciara Princess Wilson has expressed her amazement at Lagos’ remarkable transformation, lauding the Nigerian city for its newfound cleanliness and modern look.
The Grammy-winning artist, who is currently in Nigeria for Lagos Fashion Week, couldn’t hide her excitement as she reflected on how much the city has changed since her previous visits.
Speaking glowingly during a media chat, Ciara recalled that Lagos used to be characterized by untidy and congested roads. But this time around, she said she was greeted by clean streets, smoother roads, and a visibly improved urban landscape.
“I’m so happy to be here again. No, this is not my first time, I know Lagos. When I used to land before, I would see dirty roads, but now it’s all clean and has changed,” she said with a smile.
Ciara’s remarks sparked a wave of reactions online. Many Nigerians applauded her for recognizing the city’s progress, commending the Lagos State Government for its efforts in urban renewal and environmental cleanliness.
A fan, however, offered a different perspective, saying, “Ciara should visit Mushin or Ajegunle to get the full Lagos experience.”
Beyond her admiration for the city’s improved infrastructure, Ciara’s visit reinforces Lagos’ growing reputation as a global hub for fashion, culture, and entertainment. Her presence at Lagos Fashion Week further highlights Nigeria’s expanding influence in the international creative scene.
As photos and videos of Ciara mingling with local designers and celebrities continue to flood social media, her words stand as both a compliment and a challenge, a reminder that Lagos’ journey toward full transformation is still in motion, but undeniably on the right path.
