Controversial street-hop sensation Portable has once again stirred heated debate online after boldly declaring that he has helped more people in the music industry than top heavyweights like Olamide, Don Jazzy, Wizkid, and Davido put together.
In a viral video, the Zazu crooner claimed his influence goes beyond dropping hits. He insisted that he actively supports upcoming artistes, the less privileged, and everyday Nigerians who lack access to the industry, something he says many big celebrities fail to do.
Portable argued that while many stars “form ego” and ignore fans, he constantly reposts videos made by his supporters and freely associates with ordinary people.
He said:
“Many Nigerian celebrities don’t post their fans even if they dance to their songs. But me, I repost every positive video about me.
Even with your money, many celebrities won’t let you feature them as an upcoming artist. But I help people freely. I have helped more people in the music industry than Don Jazzy, Olamide, Wizkid, and Davido.”
The singer added that genuine help means taking someone off the streets, providing food, shelter, clothes, and even sponsoring their first studio session, not hiding under “mentorship” to run business deals.
According to him, many artistes are only “used,” and the moment they try to stand on their own, they are tagged ungrateful.
Fans flooded social media with mixed reactions. While some praised Portable for his street credibility and willingness to uplift underdogs, others felt he was overstretching the truth.
