Illinois Man Arrested for Alleged Threats to Shoot Chiefs Players at Concert
An Illinois man has been arrested after allegedly making a “terroristic threat” against two Kansas City Chiefs figures during a Morgan Wallen concert at Arrowhead Stadium.
The concert which was performed on Friday night featured Wallen alongside the Chiefs team players, Patrick Mahomes, and Travis Kelce.
Aaron Brown from Winchester, Illinois, reportedly issued the threat on social media prior to the event, according to the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office. Although the names of the intended targets were not disclosed by the prosecutor, Wallen was seen performing on stage with Mahomes, Kelce, and Chris Jones while sporting a Chiefs jersey.
The Kansas City police who were vigilantly observing potential threats in the stadium singled out the post from the X account, “Gooey Bag (respectfully)” that was inappropriate to the NFL players. The post was flagged by an intelligence analyst working on the threats that might be posed at the concert.
Brown’s arrest shows that the police and other security organizations are taking the threats of acts of violence in public places, especially those involving celebrities, very seriously.
