Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has confirmed a significant change in enforcement policy, announcing that the agency will now actively target employers who hire and attract undocumented workers, even if the workers themselves have no criminal record.
ICE Director Todd Lyons made the announcement, shifting focus beyond just arresting undocumented individuals.
Focus on “Stealing American Jobs”
Director Lyons made it clear that the agency’s focus is expanding beyond border security to economic factors.
“To employers who employ and attract a lot of these illegal aliens that come in and steal American jobs, we’re going to focus on those American companies as well!” Lyons stated.
While stating the agency will still prioritize “the worst of the worst,” Lyons emphasized a clear message: “If you’re here in the country illegally, we’re going to get you out.”
The “Exit Bonus” Offer and Warning
Assistant DHS Secretary Tricia Ohio introduced a controversial new incentive program alongside a strict warning.
The official confirmed that undocumented individuals now have a choice to leave voluntarily.
Ohio detailed the offer: “You can leave now, take a thousand dollar exit bonus, free flight home, and then potentially return the right legal way!”
The warning, however, was clear and immediate for those who refuse: “But if you don’t, the message is very clear. We will arrest you!”
The program aims to encourage voluntary departure but sets a definitive ultimatum for those who remain in the country illegally.
