Popular Nigerian comedian-turned-singer, Nasboi, has taken his ambition to collaborate with Afrobeats superstar Davido to a whole new level by embarking on a bold and unusual mission, a 36-day kneeling tour across all 36 states in Nigeria.
In what he describes as a “campaign plea,” Nasboi says the tour is aimed at finally securing a verse from the ‘Unavailable’ hitmaker after years of trying to grab his attention.
The entertainer, known for mimicking Davido’s voice in countless online skits, revealed that his efforts over the past five years have gone unanswered. Determined not to give up on his musical dreams, he officially kicked off the tour on Wednesday.
In a post on Instagram, Nasboi shared a photo of himself kneeling in front of the Osun State Government Secretariat, holding a placard that reads like a passionate call for collaboration. The post instantly drew reactions from fans and fellow creatives alike.
On Thursday, the singer was spotted on his knees again, this time at the Kano State Government House, continuing his commitment to the unique publicity stunt.
“I will be kneeling across the 36 states for 36 days. I pray this dream comes to pass. Please just tag @davido everyday when you see the post,” Nasboi wrote in the caption.
The campaign has quickly caught fire on social media, with fans joining in the call by tagging Davido and reposting Nasboi’s updates from each state.
Nasboi, who gained viral fame through his hilarious Davido impersonations, has since transitioned into music and has steadily built a fanbase. With this nationwide tour, he’s not only showcasing dedication to his craft but also breaking the mold in how artistes pursue their dreams in Nigeria’s music industry.
Whether this bold move will earn him that long-awaited verse from Davido remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: Nasboi is leaving no stone unturned in chasing his moment.
