Nollywood actress and former Big Brother Africa housemate, Beverly Osu, has revisited the controversial s** scandal that trailed her stint on the 2013 edition of Big Brother Africa reality show, insisting that no s**ual activity took place between her and fellow housemate, Angelo Collins.
In a recent sit-down with media personality Chude Jideonwo, Beverly opened up about the emotional toll the scandal took on her early career. She maintained that her relationship with Angelo was purely romantic and not s**ual, contrary to public perception at the time.
“I didn’t do it. I was 20,” she said. “I brought so many things out of Big Brother other than that relationship. But that was the only thing viewers focused on. I was in love. Literally, it was love. All my problems in life come from love.”
Beverly admitted she was deeply in love with Angelo and felt comfortable around him, which might have sparked the speculation. But she stressed that her openness was born out of genuine affection, not s**ual conduct.
“I have people who love me for who I am. I was madly in love with Angelo. That was why I was free around him. I was dating na, make we tie gele? I was in love,” she explained.
The actress also blamed the media and public scrutiny for the eventual collapse of her relationship with Angelo. “Today, one paper will say Beverly is with this man, tomorrow another paper will say another thing. I don’t know,” she lamented.
Despite the scandal and its impact, Beverly continues to thrive in Nollywood, proving that love, or the backlash from it cannot define her entire journey.
