Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed plans to return to school, this time, not just for certificates but to sharpen his business acumen and take full control of his music empire.
The Zazu Zeh crooner said that although he already holds an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, he feels the need to deepen his knowledge of the music business, particularly in understanding royalties, contracts, and financial management.
According to Portable, his goal is to ensure his record label, Zeh Nation, is run efficiently and independently without having to rely on others for critical decisions.
“Even though I already have an OND from Kwara State Polytechnic, I still want to further my education so I can understand my music royalties and business deals better, especially for my record label, Zeh Nation,” he said.
He emphasized that his decision goes beyond chasing academic titles, it’s about building a sustainable music brand and managing his earnings smartly.
Fans have applauded his move, calling it a sign of growth and maturity. One fan commented, “Finally, Portable is thinking like a real boss!” while another noted, “Understanding royalties and contracts is key for every artist.”
From street success to classroom ambition, Portable is proving that in today’s music industry, talent brings fame, but knowledge builds power.
